La Vegetariana Loca

Here are some random ramblings of a girl that will probably end up in an insane asylum sometime in her near future...Kookookachoo. She loves her Queen, she loves her Beatles and her Who and her Zeppy and her music in general. She loves her writing. She loves love. And she loves you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Mercury Madness Week, Day 3

Okay, I'm too lazy to write too much (Sorry, Freddie!). Blame this evil, demonic, THOROUGHLY DISGUSTING cold of mine. rawr

Well, these are both the same video, but the top one is in colour and in better condition than the second, but is WAY shorter...

Watch one!

...or better yet, WATCH BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!

...just a thought.

Mercury Madness Week, Day 2

Very, very sad vid. This is the last public appearance of Queen as a whole, and the last ever public appearance of Freddie. He's really thin, and really REALLY sick. But it puts me in awe of him that, even though he had every reason to, he didn't stay home, and just watch his bandmates take the award of TV. Oh, no. He had to be there.

He really is phenomenal. Not was, is.

Miss ya, Freddie.

Mercury Madness Week, Day 1

MERCURY MADNESS WEEK COMMENCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In exactly one week from today, "Mr.Bad Guy" (aka; FREDDIE!) is turning 60! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Can't you tell I'm just a little bit excited? lol

Well, here's a short little interview with Freddie.

It's so strange to hear him talk; everybody expects him to be loud flamboyant, you know, like his stage personality! But he's anything but; he was kind of shy, and an absolute sweetheart...

Gosh, I wish I coulda met him. He's inspired me so much...

ACK! I'M GONNA MAKE MYSELF CRY!

Well, anyways, here's the video! eNjOy!

RED SPECIAL!!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while...I've been up to my neck in this science project.

Anyways, I thought I'd chat it up a little bit about my favorite guitar, Brian May's baby, the Red Special!

THE Red Special, which Bri is playing in the bottom pic, was made by Mr.May himself, along with his dad, was built over a two year period, starting from August, 1963. Most of the wood of the body comes from an old fireplace, the position inlays are mother of pearl, and the tremolo bar was made from a knife edge and two motorbike valve springs...He's creative. ; )

He spent about 17 1/2 British pounds on it...kinda funny since a replica of the real thing (which Bri had to have restored recently, but is still playing) costs about $3,000...ha ha!

And the accoustic above? Something Bri and Co. just came out with this year...the Red Special Accoustic!

Well, I gotta stop yammering over my dream guitar; it's kinda late (for me).

Oh, quick note! Tomorrow starts what I'm gonna call "Mercury Madness Week," and it's gonna last from tomorrow to his bday...I shall post many Freddie related vids, *hopefully* one a day!

And, people, this is pointed at my friends who say they visit but don't and then they do but don't leave a comment and that makes me sad (;_;)...

COMMENT DARN YOU!!! >_<

lol

I Wanna Go...;_;

Well, it's late, and my brain cells are about dead...but, since I'm such a nice person, I'm updating anyways. Don't ya love me? lol

Basically, there's going to be this HUGE party celebrating Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday in Montreux, which used have the best recording technology out there. This was one of Queen's favorite spots to do recording; besides the technology, it's flippin' beautiful!

I REALLY REALLY wish I could go.

So, if any of you people out there do go (or any other Freddie celebration), please leave a comment and tell me about it!

And if anybody out there that's going has a rather large suitcase, I just want them to know that I can deal with small spaces...if they're willing to share. ; )

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

This video has been removed. Please see my Sunday, November 3rd, 2006 entry for reason my why.

Continuing the MySpace Rant...

Yes, I'm still mad. You wanna know why? Because I just found out that some half-wits on MySpace are not only parading around as Brian, but also as his wife (Anita Dobson; woman with him in the pic), Paul Stanley of Kiss, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor.

C'mon, folks. This isn't funny. They're basically stealing these peoples' identities. I mean, how would you like it if you came across someone on there pretending to be you?

It's just flat out mean.

I tried to email Brian, give him my sympathy and such, but I got too nervous...so Bri, if you just so happen to come across this weblog, just know that I am standing behind ya, 110%!

MySpace is CRAP! >_<

Hot pic, no? lol. For all you Queen newbs that were wondering who the heck is their guitarist because we all know who Freddie is but DANG that guitar is flippin' awesome, THAT is a pic of him. Brian May. <3>

Stupid teenage crush put aside, he really is a wonderfully talented guitarist. Sure, there are plenty of good ones out there, like Angus Young, George Harrison, Edgar Winter, list goes on and on. But are they able to, say, simulate a jazz band with a single guitar that fooled even my mother's trained ears? Or get an invite from the Queen of England to play "God Save The Queen" on the roof of Buckingham Palace? Or pen such MONUMENTAL HITS such as "Fat Bottomed Girls," "We Will Rock You," or "Now I'm Here"? "Here Comes the Sun" by George Harrison is really popular, but do you hear it at every single sports event you go to, not to mention, butt-loads of movies and TV shows?

Nope. Didn't think so.

And three people on MySpace.com decided to take advantage of this.

Let me just start off with telling you all that I think MySpace is a COMPLETE and TOTAL waste of time. Why do we all of a sudden need this stupid site to communicate with our friends? Whatever happened to a phone call? Or may I even suggest something as archaic as actually walking to their house? *GASP!*

Wait...I had a point...Oh, yeah. Well, there is this IDIOT (scratch that: THREE IDIOTS) on there parading as this legendary guitarist. And they actually have people fooled. Don't fall for them; they're not Brian.

Don't believe me? Fine. Here's a link to Mr.May's personal website.

http://www.brianmay.com/whatsnew.html

I'm sorry folks, and, as Brian said, "I'm a peaceful person, but, frankly, I feel like going over there and applying a fist or two."

Couldn't have put it better myself, Bri!

Queen+Paul Rodgers...?

*Sorry the pic is a little blurry...*

As all avid Queen fans know, Queen has been touring again (they are currently in the UK). With Freddie Mercury dead for nearly 15 years (T_T), you may be wondering how this is possible. Or not.

Well, for those of you that don't know, Paul Rodgers, former lead singer of Bad Company (Feel Like Making Love, Bad Company, and many other wonderful songs) has become the new frontman of Queen.

How do you feel about this (yes, you have to reply!)? I personally think that he is not replacing Freddie; Freddie is absolutely impossible to replace. No, I think that he is allowing the legend of Freddie to live on.

And no, he's not considered a part of Queen, per se, but Queen+Paul Rodgers. He is not inside the Queen bubble. Just on the outside, but not in the bubble.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Definite AAAWWW Factor!

Wow. I just found these pics of young Farookh Bulsara, aka, Freddie Mercury! I just thought they were adorable...Freddie's always been cute.

Not really much else to say, except PLEASE leave comments. How am I supposed to know what to talk about if I don't know what you want me to talk about? I'm pretty dang sure you're sick of my ramblings...WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO TALK ABOUT?!

Sorry 'bout that.

Oh, quick poll (if anyone will participate >_<). What do you think about Crazy Frog's version of "We Are The Champions"? Rubbish? Insulting? A refreshing version of an old favorite?

What do you think?

Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon

I go out to work on Monday morning

Tuesday I go off to honeymoon

I'll be back again before it's time for sunny-down,

I'll be lazing on a Sunday afternoon.

Bicycling on every Wednesday evening

Thursday I go waltzing to the zoo

I come from London town, I'm just an ordinary guy,

Fridays I go painting in the Louvre

I'm bound to be proposing on a Saturday night

(There he goes again)

I'll be lazing on a Sunday

Lazing on a Sunday

Lazing on a Sunday afternoon.

~Freddie Mercury

Yep, that's what I'm doin'! Got back from church, had a nice lunch, finished up some science research for school...and now I'm getting some practice in for what I like to call "the blob game" (where you sit and be a lazy blob...and whoever is the blobbiest wins) on my nana's computer. yAy!

So, how'd you like the video of the week? (If you didn't see it, I'd be very much obliged if you'd march your little self down to my last entry and watch it and leave me a nice little comment) It's one of my favorites; I'm actually planning to dress in Freddie's outfit for Halloween, and I'm working on getting one of my friends to be Roger...and Zwuonky is moving, so I have to find another Brian...;_;

Well, this probably means NOTHING to you, but I'm going to post it anyways, so NYAH! I guess who I am depends alot on my mood or something, but I took that Quizilla test that I posted a few days ago again just for kicks, and, answering all of the questions honestly, I got Freddie...and it's so funny because Brian and Freddie are both so different! Brian is more quiet, reserved, and is more into science and things like that, while Freddie is, well, as he would have probably put it, "fabulous, darling." No further description needed, eh? lol

Don't you just love my rambles? They're so rambley! ; )

And the pic...? Just another one of my faves... ; )

I like to wink...can't you tell? ; ) ; ) ; ) lol

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

Firstly, I wanted to say (and it's even more important than the video of the week), HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHNNYBOY!

John Deacon, Queen's now-retired bassist, turns 55 tomorrow, August 19th. And, in honour of Queen's youngest member's birthday, the video of the week is...

...hold your breath....

....hold it...

...

.

bit more...

..

.

I Want To Break Free!

I love this video; Freddie's boobs make me laugh. XD And Brian's makeup...

...Oh, and that hot blonde school girl that several VERY STRAIGHT guys caught themselves drooling over?

...Yeah, that's Roger Taylor, their drummer. lol.

(tidbit: Roger was a major player, drinks 2 shots of Scotch before he goes on stage, and is a DERN GOOD DRUMMER!)

Well, I've had my ramble for the day!

...erm...

Here's the video. EnJoY!

Two GREAT CDs

Recently, I ordered Jazz and Sheer Heart Attack off of Amazon.com, and I just wanted to brag on how WONDERFUL both of them are. Jazz, which came out around 1978, has hits such as "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Bicycle Race" on it (along with many other great songs), and Sheer Heart Attack, which came out in 1974, made Queen popular in the US, and has "Killer Queen" on it.

In a nutshell, I love both! ; )

I WANT ONE!

DUDE. I saw the most AWESOME t-shirt today. This guy that I haven't said more than 5 words to since 4th grade was wearing this Bohemian Rhapsody shirt. It said "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the middle, and had all the lyrics around it...I WANT ONE. lol

Nothing much else to say, except something about the "Video of the Week" section on here. If you want to see a certain video, or you want me to look for a live video to a song that an actual music video was never made for (gosh, that was confusing >_<...), just leave a comment with the name of the song, and I'll be more than happy to look! And maybe it'll be the Video of the Week! ("Probably" is more like it; I can count on one hand the amount of people that have been reading my blog...;_;...but that's okay! I love doing this anyways.)

And the pic?...I just really love it. ; ) Freddie looks like he's in the middle of a note that he's singing from his toes, singing like he's the only person there, even though you KNOW he's performing for thousands...*sigh*.

RIP, Freddie. You are DEFINITELY missed.

Got this from Quizilla...it was kinda fun, thought I'd post it. ; )

Besides...Brian May is hot. lol.

Freddie's dern fine, too...

Oh, I just now remembered a little Freddie scenario that happened in my language arts class last year. We had all made scrap book pages for our student teacher, who was leaving us to graduate. Since I had done a poetry project earlier in the year, I put in a pic of Edgar Allan Poe. And, for the same reason, I put in a pic of Freddie (most fun project I've ever done...and I got an A+ on it, too. WoOt!). This one girl says out loud upon seeing said pic of Freddie, "He's cute! <3".>_<

I quickly pointed out to my friend, who sat next to me, "She's so clueless. Everybody knows Freddie's a rotten fruit...not to mention, MY rotten fruit." lol

This was not an insult to Freddie, but my friends all refer to gay guys we like as "fruit," and since Freddie's dead (T_T) we called him "rotten." lol

...My friends are weird...

Anyways, Freddie, if ya can hear me, I LOVE YA MAN!

WWWAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Zwuonky, my fellow Queen fan and friend since before I knew who Freddie Mercury was (I've known her a LONG LONG TIME) is moving. TO INDIANA. WWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
This makes me very sad. Anyways, be nice and go to her blog at http://www.roxasrulezman.blogspot.com/ .

MISS YA, GIRL!

...And, Zwuonky, if you see someone in your room with pantyhose on her head trying to kidnap you, just come willingly, because she has many many CDs and a comfy chair that goes creak. ; )

Saturday, August 12, 2006

oops...

Gosh, I feel like an idiot. >_<. I let Brian May's and Roger Taylor's birthdays go by without doing anything. I even forgot Roger's birthday...dern. I told several people about Brian's birthday, but either they didn't hear me or they're sick of hearing me talk about Queen... Well, anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOYS!

Video of the Week

ell, I tried to post some stuff this morning, but pretty much as soon as I got onto the Internet, I had to go with my family to work in my cousin's garden. I thought it would be flat-out drudgery, but it was actually kinda fun...anyways, here's a video I got off of YouTube. I'll be trying to post a video a week (hence the title, "Video of the Week"), but it's gonna be hard with homework...but I'll make time!

But I guess I really should go and be sociable with my family. ; )

QUEEN!

Yes, it's about Queen. Not Queen Elizabeth. Not the mattress size. Queen. The rock masters, and to me, the best band of all time.

If you are like about 99.99999% of people my age (I'm 13) then you have no idea who these people are. And you live under a rock. A Jesse McCartney infested rock. Yuck.

Fortunately, most people have heard of these four brilliant muscicians.

But just in case you don't know, let's get some basics down, shall we?

FREDDIE MERCURY-Lead Vocals, Piano. September 5th,1946--November 24th, 1991

(He's on the bottom of the picture)

BRIAN MAY-Vocals, Lead Guitar. July 19th, 1947

(Top of the pic)

ROGER TAYLOR- Vocals, Percussion. July 26th, 1949

(To the right)

JOHN DEACON- Bass. August 15th, 1951

(Left)

...Okay, so now you know basically who these people were. But of course, a person is made up of a lot more than a name and a birthdate...so read on to find out more!

*Note: Just to be clear, the dates above are the bandmates birthdates, and, in Freddie's case, deathdate. ;_; Sorry for the inconvenience, ye anonymous commenter. ; )
