La Vegetariana Loca

Here are some random ramblings of a girl that will probably end up in an insane asylum sometime in her near future...Kookookachoo. She loves her Queen, she loves her Beatles and her Who and her Zeppy and her music in general. She loves her writing. She loves love. And she loves you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Homecoming!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I got back from Homecoming 2007 about fifteen minutes ago. It was a BLAST. I danced like a spazz. X3 And my date danced with me (unlike my date last year), which was a lot of fun. THANK YOU, JUSTEN! Let's see...I stole decorations, I almost got run over by someone doing the Soldier Boy, one of my best friends had her first kiss, and aforementioned friend's boyfriend sorta-kinda put down Freddie Mercury (I came really close to smacking him, but otherwise, he's really cool).

Why was I talking about Freddie, you ask? Well, I'll tell you.

I SAW FREDDIE REINCARNATE.

It was SCARY. I'm not sure of this guy's name or grade or anything, but at first, I just thought he was sort of cute. He had stolen two balloons, putting the "O" one around his waist and positioning the "7" one at the top so it looked like a horse. And he was dancing around like...hm...can't find the appropriate word to finish the simile...Anyways, I thought he was sort of good looking (FYI, my date was my friend; we're not "going out" or whatever.): he had black hair, olive skin, and was dressed in this really nice, all-white outfit. Then, ACDC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" came on, and he opened his mouth wide to sing. I FORGOT TO BREATHE FOR A SECOND. He then smiled. I swear to you, he looked JUST LIKE a young Freddie. All I could do was stand there and stare at him...I tried to get up the nerve to talk to him, but a.) he had a date, b.) I had a date (didn't want to be rude), and c.) my method for talking to him was, "Hi! You look like Freddie Mercury. Can I hug you?", and I'm sorry, but seeing as I was sorta dumbstruck...yeah.

Anywho, all-in-all, it was a blast. And I actually danced! Me, dancing! And I have the blister to prove it! :D

...

Yeah.

I'm going to go now before I say something...odd. Er. X3 It's late, and my brain's not functioning properly.

Hm...My friend said she sorta knew "Freddie"...I think I'm going to get her to befriend him and introduce me. That'd be nice.

I know, I know! I'm going!

Love you all!

>_<

Yeah, I've come to a weird sort of realization. And bear with me: it's late, so this might sound sort of odd. Earlier, I was wondering why I've never had a boyfriend (unless you count the two I had in pre-K and the one I had over the summer two years ago that lasted for, literally, a day). I've been asked out before, I know that certain guys like me, but, for the most part, I remain uninterested. Why, you ask? Well, I've basically organized the guys I'm around from a day-to-day basis thus:

FRIENDS
The guys I would never imagine dating because they're my friends. I'm scared of losing their friendship if something were to go awry in the relationship, and, for the most part, I'm just not interested; it would feel like incest. That's how close I am with most of my friends.

YUCKIES
Not enemies, per se, but yuckies. These are the jerks, the guys I avoid, usually because they are WAY perverted, disgusting, unoriginal, close-minded, shallow, etc.

BETTER-THAN-THOUS
Most of the guys I think are attractive are in this group. Most of them are older than I am, and they have no idea that I exist. It's not that they think they're better than me, it's that sometimes I feel like that's how they feel.

Almost every guy I know falls into one of those categories. Alright, after that, I have my expectations:

He has to be:
-nice (atleast to me and my friends)
-generally happy (but not freakishly so)
-looks good (as in, takes care of himself. Clothes are clean, hair is washed, etc. I'm not asking for Brad Pitt.)
-have an appreciation for music
-understanding of me (not necessarily completely weird, but won't look at me like I'm a freak...Trust me, this type of guy is few and far between.)
-Christian (or atleast not put down my Christian beliefs)
-doesn't pressure me into anything
-able to carry on intelligent conversation
-makes me feel good about myself, not stupid or inferior
-reasonably creative

Okay, so that's what he HAS to be. This is what I'd like him to be:

-British. Sorry, but I have a thing for the British. (Don't go calling me un-American! There are some good Americans, too!)
-cute (to me: not a hard accomplishment. I think Ringo Starr is cute in his own way, if that answers anyting.)
-Funny! I have issues, and humor makes me feel better! :)
-a musician! I love musicians!
-Weird, like me.
-Needs me just a little.
-likes the music I do
-puts up with my rants

And that's all I can come up with for now. So...yeah. My expectations are a wee bit high. XD A bit. I just haven't found the right guy yet...but hey, I'm only 15. I've got plenty of time. It just sort of annoys me when my friends are going on about their boyfriends:

"Oh my gosh, he held my hand and was being so sweet!"
"Isn't he adorable?"
And so on. I feel happy for them, proud that they have someone, but a teensy part of me is sort of mad at myself that I haven't been able to do the same. :P

Anywho, I'm signing off now. Night, loves. (Abrupt, I know.)

HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
(This picture of Robert Plant was taken at a concert when a bunch of doves were released at the end of a song. Completely of its own accord, a dove landed on Bob's hand. Pretty groovy, huh? And, yes, the reason for a non-Queen Pic of the Day is explained later.)
Yeah. That's basically how what I'm feeling can be summed up in a word. I've just been hugely happy since yesterday. Of course, it wasn't constant (please keep Justen and my grandmother in your thoughts and prayers), but for the most part, it was great.

Okay. Reason #1: ACROSS THE UNIVERSE!

This is a musical based on the songs of The Beatles and set in the 1960's. Its world premier was September 4th, and it came out to select American cities last week. But it's finally, finally, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! coming out all across America this coming Friday. *does freaky little happy dance*

And that is Reason #1.

Reason #2: LED ZEPPELIN IS REUNITING! (Explains the non-directly Queen pic above. But Zep was one of Freddie's favorite bands, and Plant performed at the big tribute concert in the nineties to Freddie, so there.) And John Paul Jones is going to be with them! *does happier dance than happy dance above* I'm feverishly trying to get my hands on tickets, but they haven't gone on sale in my area yet. Yep. That's right. Led Zep is going on a reuinion TOUR. Oh, yeah. I can hear a choir of rock gods singing in the heavens...

I can't tell you about Reason #3, but it still makes me happy. X3

Reason #4: Homecoming at my school is coming up, and I'm going with one of my best friends.

Reason #5: I'm getting ready to go fishing with my dad.

Reason #6: I've written a BUTT LOAD.

Reason #7: Because life is just good in general.

So, yeah. I'm happy. :)

Love you all! I'll try and get back on later.

Finally got it up!

Sorry it's so late, but here's the graphic I was working on for Freddie's 61st. Enjoy, and be nice. It took me a while to make, and I don't have Photoshop or anything. This is a product of PowerPoint and Paint. X3

Montreux

I had this really cool dream. Forgive me if some of what I say is worded weirdly or incorrectly or anything like that, but I'm still half-asleep; I wanted to write about what happened in it while I still remembered it.

In the dream, I went to Montreux with some of my family. If you don't know what Montreux is (or where it is), it's this town in Switzerland where many recordings have been made, especially by Queen (I'm pretty sure "Under Pressure" was recorded there). It's also a very beautiful town, set agains a beautiful backdrop of Lake Geneva and the Alps. However, the main attraction is the Freddie aspect of it. That is, the statue that has been set up in his honor. There are huge celebrations there every year for his birthday. Here is what it looks like:

And the statue:

Well, in my dream, it looked different from that. Most of my dream just rambled on as they usually do, mirroring minute problems that I encounter in everyday life or acting as wish fulfillment. However, when I began to approach the lake where the statue of Freddie was, everything slowed down.

The sky was beautiful: it was sunset, I think. But, instead of the pictures I showed you above, I first saw grass, then this sidewalk leading to a brick wall. The wall was about seven feet high, and there were brass statues all along it, as well as on the embankment that was above it. But, instead of being depicted as stationary, the statues along the wall were frozen in movement, helping people up onto the embankment above the wall, giving them a boost. The brass statues on the grass embankment were striding resolutely toward the lake, and, ultimately, a wide dock.

In the middle of the wall, straight ahead from the dock, there was a staircase leading through the embankment. It wasn't a very big staircase: it just went up about seven feet, the same height as the wall. The dock was nearly bare, made of plain, scrubbed wood. There were no guardrails. In the middle of the dock was the statue of Freddie, but it was different from the actual one. It was still in bronze and had the plaque in memory of him, but it was modeled more after this image:

There was only one other person on the dock, one of my friends on Gaia, and myself. We sat crosslegged side-by-side, looking at the statue, talking about mostly nothing.

Okay, so my dream didn't have a plot. But the actual scenery that it occured in was gorgeous.

Here's a crude drawing (by me...my art skills are horrid) modeling arially what it looked like:

The small squares are the bronze statues of the people (which, of the people helping the others onto the wall, consisted of Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor), and the rectangle on the bigger rectangle is Freddie on the dock.

Yeah. Appreciate my artistry. :P

That was my dream...Let me see...Oh, I'm going to go ahead and, pretty soon, but up the backgroung graphic for Freddie's birthday. I'm REALLY sorry for it being so late, but I was trying to figure out how to do something with it. I am now admitting defeat, and I will post it up soon. Really soon. I swear!

Well, I've got to go eat breakfast now. Love you all!

Peace,
Grey

Something I dug up...

Haven't seen this in a while...Anyway, I wrote this about a year and a half ago. It's just a rant, but I thought I ought to share. I was going to email it to Brian May, but I figured it wouldn't do any good...Anywho, here it is now. Just for randomness's sake. :P

"A growing number of stages of vital research and testing can now be done, thankfully, without the use of animals. We all hope that the time will come when no animal testing is needed at all. But that's not the case at the moment."
"So announcing that I am to add my name to the on-line petition in support of animal testing when necessary is something of a break with tradition - and a sign of just how important I believe it is that as many people as possible stand up against the tiny group of extremists threatening medical research and advances in this country."--ADVANCES?! I may only be 13, but I know what an "advance" is: it's where you, uh, advance. I was reading my grandmother's World Book Encyclopedia about a month or two ago, and somehow I landed on an article about animal testing (or something like that), and there was this picture, with a scientist injecting who-knows-what into this rabbit's ear. This rabbit was in a cage that looked like it was just big enough for only him (with no room to move, I might add), but there was more than one cage. Each with their own rabbit. I'm not talking two or three. I'm talking ROWS. Rows of God's creatures awaiting the same terrible fate.
This edition of World Book was published in the 60's; you'd THINK we'd've learned by now, but I guess that would be "threatening medical research and advances in this country."
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
"Britain, of course, has a proud history of animal welfare and protection. We should be more assertive about one of the very toughest licensing and control regimes in the world which is being tightened continually as new replacement procedures become available. Testing on great apes including chimpanzees, gorillas and orang-utans is banned here. In 1998 this Government outlawed testing of cosmetics on animals."--Well, Blair did something right. He banned testing on man's closest relatives. But what about the others? Why are the other animals suffering??? Don't they have the same rights as the chimps? Or are we favoring monkeys simply because we, as humans, are more closely related to them? Might I add that we all share the same planet? How would he like it if I got some experimental drug and injected it into him? But no, that's not legal. We have to do it to poor creatures that don't have a choice in the matter.
As for the cosmetics thing, bully for him. But what's the difference between that and testing on animals for medicine? You're still harming God's creatures. It doesn't matter what the reason is, really. Testing for superficial means (like cosmetics) is in no way justifiable, but if we lived fifty years ago, and my mom was suffering from some terminal illness, and the only way to save her would be to test on animals, then yeah, I would. But are we living fifty years ago? No. It just sickens me that there are so many technological advances (people can take pictures with their cell phones, for crying out loud!!!), and yet people are still testing on the creatures that we share this planet with. I mean, which is more important? Cell phones or life? Hmmm....
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
"The result is that experiments involving animals are subject to the tightest restrictions and monitoring. No animal procedures are allowed unless it can be demonstrated to an independent panel that the research is essential, that there is no realistic alternative and that any suffering is kept to an absolute minimum."--Again, it's 2006. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE 21ST CENTURY!!! Why are we still inflicting pain on animals AT ALL?! I don't care if it's done under monitering. In my mind, that makes it WORSE. That means that people are standing by and watching it happen. AND THEY'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!
I admit, I'm no scientist, but I am pretty smart, and if people can mess with genes and cells, change baby's eye colour and the whatnot, then why can't they test drugs on THOSE? I don't think genetic engineering is right (I think it's playing God, personally), but if they're going to do it, then can't they do it for the betterment of not only man kind, but animalkind as well?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
"Hundreds of millions of people in the UK and around the world today are alive and healthy because of the pioneering work of our scientists and researchers. Many millions more will be spared an early death or a life of pain because of the research now under way. They deserve our support. And they should get it."--That's wonderful. But Blair shouldn't feel like a hero. HE ISN'T ONE. Since I'm American, it's probably not my place to criticise the British government, but this is a worldwide issue. You don't exactly see squirrels bragging about their heritege, or waving little Union Jacks (or Canadian flags, or American, or WHATEVER). So I guess I do have the right. ; )
Anyway, since human life is so important to Blair (IT IS TO ME, TOO), he does have a point. But if advancing is so important to him, than why is he still condoning testing on animals? And WHY is he calling this "pioneering work?"
I guess people like me aren't meant to understand people like that.

*Please note that I wrote that a year and a half ago. I know it's dated. And also note that I was very angry when I wrote it. Yes, that is a rarity for me.

Yeah...Thought I ought to share that.

Happy 61st, Freddie!

Okay, I'm REALLY sorry, but I'm not going to be able to post much. Homework...drowning...ME!!!!! Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say that today was Freddie's 61st! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FREDDIE!!!! And yes, he is going to get much more than four exclamation points...I'm working on it, but it's going to be late because of my stupid homework.
:(

And sorry I didn't do the count down thing like last year, but I didn't have the time. I tried to find the time, but couldn't...T_T And now that I've finally found the time, I'm too tired to type anything intelligable...Hmph.

Okay. I also wanted to say hi to my regulars. Some recognition, you know.:) So, hi Danny! Hi Justen! Hi Mama! Hi Lindsay! Hi...all you other people! :D
