La Vegetariana Loca

Here are some random ramblings of a girl that will probably end up in an insane asylum sometime in her near future...Kookookachoo. She loves her Queen, she loves her Beatles and her Who and her Zeppy and her music in general. She loves her writing. She loves love. And she loves you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Do you like Bohemian Rhapsody?

Queen Japan Pictures, Images and Photos
Better question: who DOESN'T like Bohemian Rhapsody? (If you don't, I advise that you evacuate this blog before I find out.)

I like Bohemian Rhapsody. Scratch that. I ADOOOOOOOOOOOORE Bohemian Rhapsody. It's one of my all-time favorite songs by my all-time favorite band. If you've kept up with this blog even a little, you know how obsessive I am over Queen. Yes, I'm recovering, but there's still that level of obsession.

Bohemian Rhapsody is the number one selling single EVER in the UK.

Freddie Mercury's favorite color was yellow.

Roger Taylor was almost a dentist.

Brian May's favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. He's also a Starwars enthusiast.

John Deacon was planning on being an engineer before he became a big-time musician.

You see what I mean? Girl likes some Queen. Very, very, very much so.

So much so that I have been for TWO YEARS asking my chorus director to let us sing Bohemian Rhapsody in chorus.

The last time I asked him was a few months ago. He said he couldn't find an arrangement he liked.

I asked him many other times. Said he'd think about it.

I even offered to write research papers for him. I even spent an entire day watching whatever clips on the making of the song that I could find, taking notes. I had paaaaaages of notes.

So, guess what song we're doing in chorus for the spring concert?

...

NOT BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY!

This is my last concert for chorus. Well, besides one in New York. Last school one, anyway. And you want to know what we're singing?

The STUPIDEST version of Frere Jacques I've ever heard. Yep. ARE YOU SLEEPING BROTHER JOHN.

Want to know what the icing on the cake is? Oh, it gets better. SO much better.

VARSITY IS DOING BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.

I was SO pissed.

I'm in advanced. And I'm not doing chorus next year. I'm taking Spanish 3 and AP Psychology instead. Mainly because I really don't like our director. Other things came into play, too, but that was a huge factor.

But when I came into class today and saw some Varsity kids standing around with Bohemian Rhapsody in there hands, one of them (badly) playing it on piano, it took all I had not to cry.

Granted, I'm a crybaby. I cry over everything. Just how I am. But still...

At the end of class today, I went up to the front of the room and asked my director when he had decided to let Varsity do Bohemian Rhapsody.

"About two weeks ago."

"Oh...okay. Wow, break my heart, why don't you? Ha ha."

"Oh, what? Do you like Queen or something?"

-silence-

"They're my favorite band." EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERRRR!!! (I wanted to punch him in the face at this point.)

"Oh, well that's too bad. Too bad you're not in Varsity next year!"

"Yeah. Ha. Ha. Can I have a photocopy of the sheet music?"

(A PHOTOCOPY!!!)

"Sure. If I have extras. Maybe."

BISMILLAH!!!

I'm still angry. XD

I know it's stupid. I know I shouldn't be this upset. But here's the truth. The stupid, childish truth. I can't sing. I know that. But I sound pretty good in an ensemble. I sing on the front row in my chorus, even. In concerts, anyway. Now, I've always had this silly little dream that I could sing Bohemian Rhapsody on stage. Or some other Queen song. Or Led Zeppelin. Or SOMETHING other than Frere freakin' Jacques or another song about Mother Mary or some crap in church Latin. But I realized this would never happen unless my director assigned it.

Because I suck at solo work. Royally suck.

Me? In a band? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

And now I'll never get another shot at singing something like that on stage. =D

Not a happy camper right now. XD

Had to vent. Sorry about that, guys. I have to be a whiney teenager sometimes.

Upside...because I want to show that I'm not all cheese and whine.:P I got second place in Young Author's Fair at county level, and Lindsay, my best friend from Indiana, is coming to visit. So this is good.

Very good.

...

I'm going to go start my homework before I start ranting again.

I want to apologize...

First of all for the stupid ad at the top. I did NOT put it there. I don't know why it's there. Quite frankly, it annoys me a bit. Same with the random pop ups I'm getting...I don't know how to get rid of them. Help?

Secondly, for forgetting the vid of the week last week! So here it is.

I forgot for good reason. I'm in looooooooove. XD With my turntable. I cracked out Thriller and Tommy and...I couldn't stop. It was nice. I highly recommend it. ;)

This made my week!

Alright, so I'm tired from a chorus thing and tomorrow I'm leaving for a writing competion (Essay! Yaaaaaaay.), so I wanted to go ahead and post the fantastic video of the week.

I promist this blog isn't being reduced to just videos! I've just been really covered up and tired lately and...yeah, you know that by now, I think.

Oh, and Green Day's coming out with a new album soon! I don't know much about this, except that it's out sometime in April, there's a single preceding it, and it's supposed to be a concept album. I'll post more when I hear more.

Anyway! Video! Just came out this Tuesday, I think. Somewhere around there. Took everything I had not to post it then.XD

Video of the Week!

Okay, so this isn't the video of the week, but I wanted to post it anyway because it's awesome.

Here's the video of the week. :) I've forgotten if I've posted this already, but I've been in a SUBLIME mood lately. Ha...that struck me as punny. Ha. Ha. Ha.

...

I need caffeine.XD

Best thing since sliced bread!

I found a new drug today! YAY.

That drug is better than anything you could smoke or shoot up or snort. It is called pandora.com, and you can go there and type in an artist, and it chooses a random song by that artist. Then, it finds related artists according to your likes and plays it for you.

Right now, I'm listening to Muse, New Born. Earlier, I listened to Beck, which led me to Cake, which led me to Radiohead.

I am AH-MAZED.

Go there! NOW!

Muse!

Danny here with some info about the new Muse album. Yay ^_^

"We can feel the heat. The amount of Muse news flooding in our direction has been relentless! We have new album rumours, mysterious youtube videos and the forums are buzzing! The build up to album number 5 has begun!

New Muse Album - September!
A former publicist for Warner Music has announced that a September '09 release date has been earmarked for Muse's currently untitled new album. Muse have been working on their latest offering for nearly 2 years now, and September seems to be a reasonable time for its release. Read the discussion."

So, who's getting it the day it comes out? THE SECOND? Maybe just me...nah, I'm not that obsessed. But I will have it on the day. I should hope you're all doing the same ;)

I'll be posting another entry soon when I've finished my soon-to-be-finished guitar. Pictures, too - yay! Maybe even sound, if I have time before handing it in. I'm anxious to see how it comes out when it's all together and working.

Bye for now =)

And ONE MORE THING!

Watch this!

ITN - Supersonic Saturday Scene -Roger Taylor on MUZU.
^_^Roger Taylor interview circa A Day At The Races. Enjoy!

March the First!

And you know what that means? Nooooo? Shame. XD

It's Roger "The Chest" Daltrey's birthday today! He's 65.

And I sadly couldn't get on the computer when George Harrison had his birthday, but, if he was still alive, he would have turned 66 on 25 February.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

(^Thought this was too awesome.XD If you haven't seen Help!, do.)

And I also wanted to say something about Muse. :) They are releasing a new album. Not sure when, but Danny does! Danny, when you get a chance, please leave an entry about it.^_^

Also...If ever you've read into groupies, you'll find that a few of them took offense at being called "groupies" because of what it connoted. Lori Maddox even said once that they were "band-aids," not groupies, and Peter Grant went on about what a help girls like her were to the tour: they accompanied the band, helped them with chores, etc. Of course, there was still the sexual aspect. What do you think? Are groupies and band-aids the same, or different? Do you think they were trashy? A help? A hurt?

And just for kicks, here's a picture of Lovely Lori Maddox with Keith Moon. She's to the right. :)
