Better question: who DOESN'T like Bohemian Rhapsody? (If you don't, I advise that you evacuate this blog before I find out.)
I like Bohemian Rhapsody. Scratch that. I ADOOOOOOOOOOOORE Bohemian Rhapsody. It's one of my all-time favorite songs by my all-time favorite band. If you've kept up with this blog even a little, you know how obsessive I am over Queen. Yes, I'm recovering, but there's still that level of obsession.
Bohemian Rhapsody is the number one selling single EVER in the UK.
Freddie Mercury's favorite color was yellow.
Roger Taylor was almost a dentist.
Brian May's favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. He's also a Starwars enthusiast.
John Deacon was planning on being an engineer before he became a big-time musician.
You see what I mean? Girl likes some Queen. Very, very, very much so.
So much so that I have been for TWO YEARS asking my chorus director to let us sing Bohemian Rhapsody in chorus.
The last time I asked him was a few months ago. He said he couldn't find an arrangement he liked.
I asked him many other times. Said he'd think about it.
I even offered to write research papers for him. I even spent an entire day watching whatever clips on the making of the song that I could find, taking notes. I had paaaaaages of notes.
So, guess what song we're doing in chorus for the spring concert?
...
NOT BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY!
This is my last concert for chorus. Well, besides one in New York. Last school one, anyway. And you want to know what we're singing?
The STUPIDEST version of Frere Jacques I've ever heard. Yep. ARE YOU SLEEPING BROTHER JOHN.
Want to know what the icing on the cake is? Oh, it gets better. SO much better.
VARSITY IS DOING BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.
I was SO pissed.
I'm in advanced. And I'm not doing chorus next year. I'm taking Spanish 3 and AP Psychology instead. Mainly because I really don't like our director. Other things came into play, too, but that was a huge factor.
But when I came into class today and saw some Varsity kids standing around with Bohemian Rhapsody in there hands, one of them (badly) playing it on piano, it took all I had not to cry.
Granted, I'm a crybaby. I cry over everything. Just how I am. But still...
At the end of class today, I went up to the front of the room and asked my director when he had decided to let Varsity do Bohemian Rhapsody.
"About two weeks ago."
"Oh...okay. Wow, break my heart, why don't you? Ha ha."
"Oh, what? Do you like Queen or something?"
-silence-
"They're my favorite band." EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERRRR!!! (I wanted to punch him in the face at this point.)
"Oh, well that's too bad. Too bad you're not in Varsity next year!"
"Yeah. Ha. Ha. Can I have a photocopy of the sheet music?"
(A PHOTOCOPY!!!)
"Sure. If I have extras. Maybe."
BISMILLAH!!!
I'm still angry. XD
I know it's stupid. I know I shouldn't be this upset. But here's the truth. The stupid, childish truth. I can't sing. I know that. But I sound pretty good in an ensemble. I sing on the front row in my chorus, even. In concerts, anyway. Now, I've always had this silly little dream that I could sing Bohemian Rhapsody on stage. Or some other Queen song. Or Led Zeppelin. Or SOMETHING other than Frere freakin' Jacques or another song about Mother Mary or some crap in church Latin. But I realized this would never happen unless my director assigned it.
Because I suck at solo work. Royally suck.
Me? In a band? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
And now I'll never get another shot at singing something like that on stage. =D
Not a happy camper right now. XD
Had to vent. Sorry about that, guys. I have to be a whiney teenager sometimes.
Upside...because I want to show that I'm not all cheese and whine.:P I got second place in Young Author's Fair at county level, and Lindsay, my best friend from Indiana, is coming to visit. So this is good.
Very good.

I'm going to go start my homework before I start ranting again.
