La Vegetariana Loca

Here are some random ramblings of a girl that will probably end up in an insane asylum sometime in her near future...Kookookachoo. She loves her Queen, she loves her Beatles and her Who and her Zeppy and her music in general. She loves her writing. She loves love. And she loves you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

15 years!

This is the last-ever picture of Freddie...he looks so sick...

Fifteen years ago today, Freddie Mercury died in his home. I'm not going to write much concerning it, because I feel like my eyes are getting ready to start flooding any minute now...I miss Freddie so much...

Well, RIP Freddie.

Day 7

I've gotta make this short, seeing as it's Thanksgiving and I've got family over here, so I'm just going to get straight to the point: here's the video. Miss you, Freddie. Yadayadayada.

But seriously, Freddie; we miss you. Bunches and bunches.

Day 6

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Listening to: Led Zeppelin's A Whole Lotta Love
Okay, so I didn't get around to doing my "reason" thingy yesterday; I'll pick back up on that next week. I've just been too busy to do it...That's also why my entries have been so short. I've been cleaning up the house and stuff; turns out, I actually might make a pretty good housewife some day! : )

Alrighty! Excuses over! I don't have time to post much this time either, but I'm going to post a Freddie tribute video, just 'cos I'm so nice. ; ) The sound is kinda low-quality, but it's a good song, and the video is great! It's got quite a few pictures that I've never seen before...

Love ya, Freddie!

Day 5

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I'm really starting to feel the anniversary of Freddie's death coming...I'm not sad, really, just...melancholy.

It's kind of strange; I miss him, and I've never even met him. I've known for years, before I even liked Queen, that he died before I was born, so why does it bother me so much now? I just want the chance to hang out with him, you know? Talk with him. Be with him. That's all.

I need to stop writing before everybody thinks I've turned emo...I've felt like this the past few days. I thought it would go away, but it hasn't...

Well, here's the tribute video for the day. I hope you enjoy it.
Just in case you're wondering what the song is, it's In the Lap of the Gods, Revisited off of Sheer Heart Attack. It's one of my favourite songs off of that album; Freddie's voice is more wonderful than usual in it.

...

Justen, shut up. : P

I love you all! And, Freddie? Keep on rocking out up in heaven. And I still love you, too.

Day 4

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I've actually crawled out of my classic rock hole that I had dug myself into! I've been listening to Panic! At the Disco ALOT the last few days, and I'm getting ready to get their CD. Of course, I don't like them better than I like, say, Queen, the Beatles, or the Who (those are my top 3 favorite bands, in order), but they're still really good!

Oh, and I have to go to the dentist today...HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!

GOOD NEWS! I've gotten two new ideas for stories! BAD NEWS! I can't do them yet because I'm working on a novel! Well, I love the novel dearly, so I'll stick with it, but since it's the first part of a series, I guess I'll just write something different after this novel, just to take a break.

That's all I can think of for now! Here's a tribute video I found in honor of Freddie! ENJOY! I kind of like the remake of Who Wants To Live Forever on it. Not as much as the original, of course, but it's still good! And the video is superb, definitely on my top 5 of favorite Freddie tributes.

Day 3

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Well, I had a good cry today. You have to remember: I am a girl. A teenaged girl. Therefore, I am prone to long crying spells over very small things. Like something that happened in debate class months ago. And a dead guy I've never even met (it's way too obvious who it was...).

Yeppers. But I'm better now.

Again, I don't really have much to say...Ah, vell. Here's a nice tribute video, though. You see? This is the disadvantage of updating daily; I can't think of anything to write. But it's in honour of Mr. Bulsara, so it's okay. Oh, and Farrokh Bulsara is Freddie Mercury's birth name, just in case you were wondering who the heck Mr. Bulsara was.

Day 2

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Short entry, I know, but here's a great site that I'm donating $70 I've saved up to. (You remember the AIDS change jar...?)

http://mercuryphoenixtrust.com/

You really should donate...even if it's just a few dollars...
Every little bit is helping to save peoples' lives.

I'm sure that Freddie would be proud of an organization like this created in his name.

Love ya, Freddie. Wish you could have stuck around a bit longer...
And here's another awesome tribute to you that I found...I think it's even better than the first!

ITEM OF THE WEEK and something new...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Okeedokee, for the item of the week, here's one of my favourite sites.
www.freddie.ru

And I'm sorry about the last entry; I'll fix it later. But I'm too lazy to right now.

Okay, for those of you that don't know, Freddie Mercury passed away on November 24th, 1991, and the 15th anniversary of his death is exactly a week from today. So, in honour of his death, I thought I'd do another week-long celebration: Freddie Mercury Rememberance Week. This is going to be a kinda rough time for me; I feel really close to Freddie, even though I never met him...

So, for Fredddie, I have a special tribute video I found!

LOVE YOU, FREDDIE! Keep on rockin', even in heaven!

Found it!

For the past few months, I have been on a fruitless search for a certain picture of Roger Taylor. I haven't told anybody about it, because I knew what answers I'd receive, things involving, "weirdo" "stalker" "freak," or my favorite, "weirdo-stalker-freak." Again, I feel the compulsion to state that I am NOT a stalker.

However, I just had to see this picture; it's hilarious!

As anybody who knows anything about Roger Taylor, he was pretty vain (not too badly, but you'd have to be to look as great as he does), and he was VERY VERY touchy about his hair. He liked using bleach, just to toy with different shades of blonde. Well, one fateful night, right before a concert, he bleached his hair. Funny thing was, he had a bit of a malfunction, and it came out not blonde, not even white, but green. Roger got a hold of most of the pictures, so they really are quite rare. But I found one! *gloats*

I know you don't care, but I do. So there. And I know that all of my fellow Queen-fans care. So bigger there.

Anyways, whether you care or not, here it is!

The item of the week this week is...MY PROFILE ON GAIA!!! Yay! I just made it recently, and it's just so awesomely awesome...here's the link to it:

http://gaiaonline.com/profile/index.php?view=profile.ShowProfile&item=5144662

But since you probably don't care about that, here's a link to this awesome guild on Gaia. First off, you have to actually join Gaia to be able to join the guild, but it's still cool!

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/index.php?guild_id=6124

That's all I can think of right now...Except I will be gone tomorrow to go to an academic bowl competition (yes, I'm that dorky). I get to leave tomorrow at 6:30 in the morning! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!!! :D

...Whatever...

Love you all!

REASON #2

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (Haha! That's from my favourite scene of Help!! And yes, it's non-Queen, but read on, and you'll find out why!)
Yes, I'm keeping up with this feature! Not only because I'm proving something (coughcoughOLDBANDSOWNMODERNBANDScoughcough), but because it's fun! So there!

Alrighty, here we go...
REASON #2 WHY I LISTEN TO OLD MUSIC: The Beatles
Favorite member: Sir Paul McCartney!!! I really like George as well, but Paul is definitely my favorite!
Favorite Album: I like White Album. I also like Abbey Road.
Top Five Favorite Songs: Lady Madonna, Fool On The Hill, Get Back, Eleanor Rigby, the end of Abbey Road (technically not one song, but they string together to form one long, rock opera)
What I Was Doing When I Fell In Love With Them: The first time I ever heard them, I was six or seven, and I was put out because my mother was making me listen to Hey Jude and I had wanted to listen to some Backstreet Boys song (I had such bad taste...). However, I fell in love with them this past March, when my dear mumsy bought me Abbey Road. I listened to it while I was getting ready for school, and automatically told my mom that I wanted the rest of the Beatle's albums! To date, I have two Beatle's biographies on film, two Beatle's movies (Magical Mystery Tour and Help!), Rubber Soul, Yellow Submarine (the soundtrack), Abbey Road, Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band, White Album, Greatest Hits Volume 1, and 1. I've also recorded several interviews, and I buy whatever magazines I can get my grubby little paws on if they so much as mention my Macca! lol
First CD I Ever Got: Abbey Road

One more thing: I'm thinking of converting this to a plain blog, because there is more to me than Queen. YES I HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF QUEEN! I adore Queen in inhuman amounts, but it's not like the only worth-while things that happen to me are about Queen. True, many of them are, but that's not the point! Example? One boy on my buys mooned the bus behind us (as well as four cars) yesterday. Sound Queen-related to you?

Anyways, I love you all.

AND YES, THE EGG MAN IS MINE!!!
Photobucket - Video and Image HostingTo adopt your own Beatle, or do many other wonderful, Beatle-related things, please go to: http://www.angelfire.com/journal/fleurspage/beatles.html. This is probably my favourite Beatles site!

I Made a BIG Mistake

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
You know how I've been doing the Video of the Week segment on this blog, where I post a Queen video off of YouTube? Well, guess what I found out yesterday? One of my favourite channels has been shut down because the owner was posting videos that violated copyright laws. You know what videos those were? Queen videos. So, over the next few days, I'm going to take down ALL of the videos off of my site (except for videos that weren't created in violation to any copyright laws). Sorry for the inconvenience.

At first glance, I didn't really care that I wasn't supposed to post these videos; I just thought it was a dumb rule YouTube made that didn't really mean anything. But then I realised that, on YouTube, you can watch as many videos as you want, as often as you want, FOR FREE. That's bad. That's really bad. Basically, I was stealing from Queen without even knowing it.

Can you imagine how horrible that made me feel?

So, from now on, I'm going to be replacing the Video of the Week segment with an Item of the Week. The Item of the Week can be anything, from a website to a fan encounter, from an icon to a CD review. I'll even do an instrument, or a place, or ANYTHING! Just as long as it's legal. ; )

Well, I'm going to go and start getting rid of the videos on here...again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Love you all,
Grey

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Firstly, I want to give a status report on my AIDS jar. (For those of you that don't know what that is, that's a jar I started filling a few months ago with change to donate to the Mercury Phoenix Foundation. I'm going to be putting the check or whatever for the amount that I collect in the mail on November 24 of this year; that's the 15th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death.) It's overflowing! I was cleaning my room yesterday, and I found a bunch of money, so I stuck a few dollars in the jar. : ) I'm happy! I've been collecting change for forever, and I finally got it full! Oh, and I'm probably going to get one of my best friends, Becca, to put a post on here later today, but I'm not sure about how that's gonna go...

Well, I gotta go catch the bus to go to school in, like, 7 minutes, so I'm going to go ahead and put up the Video of the Week. It's probably my favorite love song, simply because of one line:

You're smile speaks books to me.

*sighs* I love that! Anyways, here's the video!
Breakthru

Yeah, I know what you're thinking: "WHERE THE HECK IS THE VIDEO?! I WAITED ALL WEEK!" Well, I removed it. Please see my Sunday, November 5th, 2006 entry for my reason why.

Freedom!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
(Got this off of brianmay.com. Obviously, it's Brian, but it's pre-Queen *barely*. It was taken in 1971.)
And here are some more of Freddie's pics!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I *think* it's Kashmira, Freddie's younger sister.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Elvis
Photobucket - Video and Image Hostinga pretty flower
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Um...
Just wanted to say sorry for not updating in a few days, but I was grounded from the computer until I cleaned my room...it was not an easy task, but it was rewarding; withing five minutes, I had found $33.45. YAY! But I'm getting another evil cold...grrr...

Maybe I can sit out of PE tomorrow...SHUT UP, CONFUEVOS! (sorry, inside joke)

Anyways, just cos I'm bored, I wanted to start another feature on this thing that I guess I'll do on Tuesdays, cos Tuesdays are just so dreary...I know today is Thursday. You can shut up now, Confuevos.

Okeedokee...REASON #1 WHY I LISTEN TO OLD MUSIC: Queen
Favorite member: I love them all! But I guess Freddie, 'cos we're a lot alike. We're both virgo, our favorite colour is yellow, we both love the Beatles, our favorite movie is Some Like It Hot...
Favorite Album: They're all wonderful! But I really do love Innuendo. A Night at the Opera runs a close second.
Top Five Favorite Songs: Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, My Melancholy Blues, Bohemian Rhapsody. Whew, that was tough!
What I Was Doing When I Fell In Love With Them: I was 7 years old, and I was riding in the car with my best friend, my best friend's dad, and our neighbour. Another One Bites The Dust came on the radio, and my friend's dad was singing to it very badly, and was zooming way too fast over these speed bumps...but I fell in love with the song! I listened for that song on the radio for abput five years after that; I didn't remember the title of the song, but that bass line stuck out in my head like a sour thumb. Eventually, I found out it was by this old, British rock band called Queen, and soon after that, I heard Bohemian Rhapsody and Fat Bottomed Girls for the first time, and the rest is history!
First CD I Ever Got: Queen Greatest Hits, the one in the maroon sleeve.

YAY! Oh, and my mother sent me this awesome video...not Queen-ish, but definitely a philosophy we should all live up to!

Well, that's it! Love you all!
